La pel\u00edcula muestra las im\u00e1genes del modelo de la doble h\u00e9lice de ADN de James D. Watson y Francis Crick (acierto por el cu\u00e1l la academia sueca les concedi\u00f3 el <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobelprize.org\/nobel_prizes\/medicine\/laureates\/1962\/\">Nobel de Medicina en 1962<\/a>) filmadas a trav\u00e9s un caleidoscopio con una c\u00e1mara de 16 mm. As\u00ed describe Hans Boye el primer encuentro que tuvo lugar con Gerhard para poner m\u00fasica al film:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>After having seen the film at the laboratory on a Sunday morning, Roberto Gerhard was at first rather reluctant to take on the task of making a soundtrack for it, &#8211; he was probably very much aware of the fact, that making just 8 minutes of soundtrack meant a lot of work at the tape recorders. We had also made it clear that we could not offer him any payment, except for a free copy of the film with the soundtrack. This was not such a tempting proposition for a busy composer trying to earn a living from his compositions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>La banda sonora de este film (resultado del encargo al que Gerhard finalmente accedi\u00f3 con la condici\u00f3n de disponer de libertad para utilizar la pel\u00edcula para sus propios fines) tuvo tan buena acogida que fue promocionada por el compositor como un trabajo aut\u00f3nomo bajo el nombre de <em>Audiomobile No. 2 &#8222;DNA&#8220;<\/em>.
