La cinta fue realizada en el estudio dom\u00e9stico que Roberto Gerhard hab\u00eda instalado un a\u00f1o antes en su casa de Madingley Road en Cambridge, y ensamblada en el Radiophonic Workshop de la BBC. Como punto de partida Gerhard toma\u00a0la grabaci\u00f3n de la traducci\u00f3n al ingl\u00e9s del poema, recitado por el actor Stephen Murray. De este modelo sonoro se deriva la banda electr\u00f3nica: un expresivo lienzo hilado con sonidos de origen ac\u00fastico y manipulaciones de cinta magnetof\u00f3nica, en el que el compositor destila los ritmos y afectos del poema.
